700R4 wiring blues

I am in the process of building a, from the ground up hotrod, actually more of a warm stick as the motor is currently a stock 305. I first purchased a 4.3L with the attached 700R4 in deference to the gas prices, however got scared off and decided to go with what I know how to work on, a basic sbc. This is a completely non computer rod. I kept the 700R4 but have almost decided to sell it and go with a Turbo350 because I really do not know how to wire the thing up so that the overdrive ie, lock up converter will work as advertised! Any help would be appreciated. This is a low budget build for my grandson so cost is an issue, or I would have already just bought a T350. The tranny came out of a l992 blazer, has a 4 pin connector and electronic speed sensor, no speedo cable. I would also like to convert back to the cable speedometer. Is there a conversion kit for this.
