700R4 Z-Pak Question

I'm installing the Z-Pak in my '92 700R4. I have the 3-4 apply ring stamped with a "7" which is slightly shorter than the one stamped with a "4" which I took out of it. Do I install the #7 apply ring and use the 5 fingered clutch retainer? If I set it up that way, my 3-4 clutch clearance is 0.045", which seems about right. Or should I use the taller #4 apply ring, and leave out the clutch retainer?

Also, my forward clutch clearance seems tight at 0.030". Too tight or okay? Thank a bunch for the info guys.

I would suggest the .045 clearance if that is the question.

Z pak ; typically this kit includes upper and lower pressure plates? As I recall they did ? Bottom plate was a special machined plate. I've not used these Z-pak kits in a few years, I prefer the Alto kits with thicker steel one side plates

Thanks, Crosley. Yes it does include the upper and lower pressure plates.
