71 chevelle wiring ques?

I had a straight six with a coil and a starter with three studs on it. The starter had the main power and then two little studs ignition and the low resistance wire. I switched to the 350 with an hei distribitor. And a starter with two studs. Where do the wires that were negative on the coil from the six cylinder go?
I have a purple wire that and yellow(besides the main power thatis supposed to go to the starter). Does one of those go to the hei dist? The yellow one is the low resistance wire. What exactly gets plugged into the hei? The top of it says batt and tach. No tach in car yet. I looked at wiring diagrams for 75 and later chevelles(thats when hei dist. started coming in to play) And they all had 3 stud starters and coil????? Please help me hahaha

The yellow low resistance wire would normally go to the (R) post on the starter. However hei ignition does not need that. The hei needs a 12vdc feed. Most run a new wire(10ga) right from the ignition switch to get the feed to the hei. Ohh and the purple wire that runs to the starter still needs to go to the starter (S) post.

Neither the (R) post or the (S) post are large post they are both small posts.
On a small block the (R) post will be the small post to the "outside" aka RH side aka pass side.... and the (S) post will be twords the block aka LH sid aka drivers side.. The large batt post is irrelevant at this time...
