71 chevy malibu 4dr L6 to V8 swap questions

i plan to remove the 230 ci l6 from my 71 maliby 4 dr and replace it with a 350 small block v8. when i mount the new motor will it move the transmission forward or backward and therefore require an custom length driveshaft? how will i need to modify the throttle linkage to accept a 350 ( the new motor will have a holley carb) any helpfull advice will be appreciated.

I've never done this particular swap, so I don't know if the 6-banger trans is in the same place with the same mount as the V8 trans. At any rate, you shouldn't have to build a custom driveshaft. With all the V8 '71 Malibus there must be out there languishing in the boneyards, at least one of them must still have the driveshaft under it that you can buy. You should need no custom pieces to do this swap.
