72 Chevelle

I have recently received and installed a horn relay on my 72 malibu, I would like to know if the green wire goes on the top post, and what is the black wire (I assume lower post). I know that the green wire is the horn. Besides the horn relay and the green horn ring what else could be missing/wrong, as the horn will still not blow. It has an after market grant wheel and everything is ok with the horn mech. Any sugestions.. There are a million threads on 72 horn probs, but none have helped me. If I short the green wire it blows

Narrow it down, if the horn blows with a direct jumper to hot, try bypassing the horn relay, jump the relay if the horn blows - move to the firewall wire, bypass it etc... if at any stage the bypass/jumper fails to make the horn blow that's the bad part/wire etc...

Good news

I just went out in the cold 1 last time, and what it ended up being was the grant steering wheel paint would not let the contact point ground against metal, so I scraped the paint at the points. I just wonder how many of the horn probs I read about could be from this..Thanks for the replies.GZ
