Headlight switch----or----dimmer switch???????

I can't see how the wiring can be pulled from the HL switch with a carpet change.

Maybe this will help.

It is from a wiring kit.

The green and tan wires can go to either term on the botom of the dimmer switch.----The wire from the HL switch will go to the top center position.

Doc here,

1972 Chevy full/mid-sized light switch:

You will have to Ohm the switch out to Verify function of the switch..

Personally , I'd take it back and MAKE them fix it..
