72 chevy light switch wiring
Hello everyone,I hope someone can help.I had someone put carpet in and they pulled the wires off the headlight switch.Can you tell me which colored wires go to which posts?I dont want to melt any wires. Thanks!

Headlight switch----or----dimmer switch???????
I can't see how the wiring can be pulled from the HL switch with a carpet change. Maybe this will help. It is from a wiring kit. The green and tan wires can go to either term on the botom of the dimmer switch.----The wire from the HL switch will go to the top center position. Bryan

Doc here,
 1972 Chevy full/mid-sized light switch:  You will have to Ohm the switch out to Verify function of the switch.. Personally , I'd take it back and MAKE them fix it.. Doc
