72 nova engine compartment wiring

some of the engine compartment wiring has been cut before i purchased this car .
i have the lights working but do not know the correct wire up for the starter and alternator (had old style with external voltage
regulator) using internal regulated alternator now .
is there any sites that show the engine compartment wiring ?
i have a haynes book but the diagrams are too confusing .
basically i need to know what color wire goes to what accessary
from the firewall out .
thanks for any help i can get .
