72 nova ladder bars

Im looking for any suggestions from anyone having any experience with this situation, with any car. I'm installing a coil-over/ladder bar suspension in a nova. Relative to installing the ladder bar cross member, and mounting the ladder bars with the included heim joint and through bolts--- I'm concerned that this setup is going to create a real harsh ride. I know this solid connection is the positive aspect of this installation, but I'm building a streetrod not a drag car.I thought I might mount this connection through a rubber bushing just like the original leaf springs are mounted.

Any thoughts...

thanks, t-bone

I drove a 68 camaro with the same basic setup you described. You cannot take tight turns into or out of driveways. It really is not to bad of a ride. Forget about quick lane changes. You cannot try and be a TFTF type driver.

I also recommend you DO NOT load the trunk or carry back seat passengers.

Since you are NOT building a drag car IMO you need to loose the idea of a ladder bar suspension. It will not last as a daily driver. Now if you are building a trailer queen show car, have at it.

Ditto! Ladder bar suspensions are a drag race suspension like Larry said. You will not be happy with it in your "streetrod". Especially if you want to drive it. I would recommend simply rebuilding the leaf spring suspension, get some good shocks and drive it. Much simpler and much less prone to failure...
