I have a number of vehicles. 3 total cuda, c10 truck, and integra. My girl would kill me if I brought home another. Every once in a while, life sets you up for a treat. At the corner gas station is a 1972 skylark coupe , red with white interior. No rust and clean under body. A 350 2bbl and 8.2 differential base model. It is very clean, but has 110k. 2200 takes it. Should i? My garage is full, but there is a carport behind the shed. Feel kind of stupid about this. Would you grab it?


I do all my own work and would like to put a spare Qjet on, a small cam , mill the heads, I have 4 tiger paw uniroyal 225/60's in the shed, Even have a pair of glasspacks, etc. I have a collection of parts from swap meets. It could be a nice musclecar.

If it's a clean as you say..some young hot rodder might like a daily driver that could be his project too.

My son and i are doing exactly that. We are on our third..
This time it's a 76 Nova. Pefect inside and out. AC..everything works. We did new water pump..alt..shocks etc. Now offering for sale.
My son learns cars..develops his skill in this hobby..and makes a little to get another project..

Young folks can't afford a 32 ford..but maybe if we help get them involved..there is a strong future in hot rodding..

It looked nice, and it would have made a nice driver. The woman in my life said, hell no. I could do it, but then I would be in the dog house. Almost wrote the check.

Might be mistaken but dont buick 350's have a square 350 3.80 bore and 3.80 stroke.

Betting you are joking, but her civic is a nice modern 4 dr sedan. I would lose a testicle if i sold her car. She is a 1 or 2 car per family person , that tolerates my hobby.

The skylark is not common like a Olds cutlass , with similar body lines, but with horizontal tail lights. It is a looker , and drove past it this morning. It is not a GS , but with some rwl wall tiger paws it would look sweet. Im still thinking , but it will eventually be a no go.

Are there any links to the buick 350 2 barrel engine around? It is not the 307/350/403 olds engine familiy, but some 3.80 bore/3.80 stroke buick mill.

$2200 for a non junker 2 door A body anything is a great deal these days!! Heck a guy in my area want 5 grand for a POS 4 door 72 chevelle with what looks like a rolled on paintjob!!

I had a 73 buick with the 350 2bbl...torquey engine... different too....I swapped in a 350 chev LOL... Had to GIVE the buick engine away.

Just to entice you a little more, that car is likely equipped with a 8.5 in 10 bolt corporate rear axle with bolt in axles. Very strong(not 9 in ford but strong none the less).

With a 2004r swapped in place of the th350 I would bet on low 20 mpg numbers. Very reliable,safe transportation.
