727 pushbutton linkage

looking into getting the right 727 torqueflite big block. Need to get linkage for the pushbutton controls as this will go into a 1958 Chrysler Imperial. Can I get the linkage off a car and attach to a newer (late 60-76) tranny, or was there a special bracket that was on the oldies? I'd really like to keep it pb. I know Lokar has a "through the floor" shifter, but pb is part of the charm that I want in my Imperial.
One question closer to the truth,
jon

The Torqueflite transmissions for the pushbutton controls were different than the ones with regular shifters. There was no linkage set-up to get for them. They were cable operated. You will need to get one from a vehicle that was pushbutton controlled.

Imperial Services offers conversions to run a late-model linkage with the push-button controls. I've never used them, but I hear they are extremely slow on the turnaround.

They don't list the shifter conversion on their Imperial page, but it is listed on the C-Body page, so you might give them a call.
