Well I finally got this old Buick done. May have to give it a quick once over with the buffer again when it completely cured. But don't look all that bad. It wasn't planed to be a show car just a decent paint job.I see I left a little rubbing compound I need to clean off.

Awesome! Those cars mean a lot to me, I was just starting to drive about then and my dad was a Buick salesmen, I saw a LOT of those cars when they were brand new. You did it justice!

Looking good. Is that metallic in the black or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

Looks great. Do I see a '54 Pontiac in the back ground? Next project maybe?

Andy It's not really black it's just so dark of a green that it looks like black. It's a dark green pearl off a 2010 jag. Seems like it came out a little darker than should be. I did try to lay it down wet to get the pearl even. That maybe part of it and it is omni base which may also be part of it. Omni base and spi production clear.

John You are right that is a 54 Pontiac 2 dr has a straight 8 that should run. A little rusty but rebuild able. I have it on local Craig's list for $1500. Comes with a 307 chev motor a 350 th and a camaro stub frame. I've also got a 71 mark 3 from ca, a 51 f-1 ford, and a 47 ford 4dr that I started to build a street rod out of for sale. I found a 64 stude GT hawk that I made a deal on that I want real bad. THe bride said no more cars untill I get rid of some that I have.

going to see if I can post a picture of the gt on this post.

John long 05-27-2012 02:05 PM

All would make a good project for the right person. Would you like me to call your bride and explain to her a man can never have too many projects? Anything I can do, just let me know :mwink:

Looks fantastic.

About driving young, my parents had us driving in the horse track parking lot when we were 10. A block of wood on the pedal.

Ever shoot rats with a .22 from a fender of a moving dodge, creeping through a junkyard at night with the highbeams on. You see those red eyes shinning back at you. The best of times. How it all changed.

Shoot spinn. At your age, these are the good old days. You will see soon enough. :) :)

I was just watching an old Cojack the other day. I'm pretty sure he drove a 4dr version of this. Nice old car, paint job looks excellent.

Does anyone understand how my 2 smiley faces ended up 2 pictures in the above post? Does anyone else's "smiles" list have the truck image replacing the smiley face?
