i bought the truck with a broken windshield.. once i found a windshield. i ordered a gasket to put it in with.. now the gasket i got was designed not to use the chrome bead locking strip.. but i have no idea how this new gasket goes on the windshield.. it came with no instructions?? anyone give me a hand with this problem?

1st method;

you will need
string(strong nylon 1/4')soft
silicon spray
masking tape
suction cups are nice to have
put gasket around glass
put glass on outside of cab
put string around gasket 360* put the fattest part in (bottom)
one guy inside one out pull string around glass slowly and carefully using the spray if it starts to bind up
pull string from inside without side guy holding it in place and putting slight pressure on it
try to pull the string one side @ a time a little 1 side little the other back and forth back and forth @ a 90* to the glass working the gasket into/onto the lip
and it should pop in eventually might not go in the first few times

2nd method call a professional auto glass installer they break it they buy it you make sure of that
PS windshields are totally different than the rest of the glass it will pop and run a crack in a new york minuet without warning !!!

i think thats all i know about that
other than return the old one and get the good ones either the rubber insert or the crome insert the rubber one there is a special too for installing and removing

On really tough gasket installs it helps to use a lubricant, I've used window cleaner spraying it on the gasket as you go. or for really tight fitting windows some gojo hand cleaner works great. The locking strip gets installed after the glass and gasket are in place. The 73-87 style is usually an easy install.
