Post 73 corvette pinion preload

had leaky pinion seal, replaced, cannot find spec to tighten retaining nut on the pinion gear.
assumed there was a torque spec for replacement of the seal which would not effect the crush sleeve and provide the proper bearing preload.
seems easy enough, i sure cant find anything/anyone to tell me thr correct spec.

also does anyone know if the posi preload springs & cage can be removed from a 4:11 without removal of the ring gear and/or carrier ???

there is a spec on the bearing drag i think it is 14-18 in.lbs, its been a while, thats inch pounds not foot lbs. if you do a few you can recognize that it is just a small effort to spin the bearing, a tapered bearing will set its own preload while it is running as long as it isn't over torqued at first.
