'75 350 mount to 700R4?

Hello all, first off thanks alot to this sight, I always find helpfull suggestions. My current question is does a 350 out of a '75 suburban bolt up to an '84 700R4 transmission? My truck recently got diagnosed with a bad block, and we have a 75 suburban were ready to park for good. Any help would go a long way, thanks, Jose. Out of curiousity, is there a link that maybe has all the interchangable engines to trannys from various years? I also have a 307 from a 69, and I was just wondering.

Your question is a little confusing. It sounds like you want to drop the '75 350 engine into the '84 truck. If that's the case, you should not have any problem with the engine bolting right up to the transmission. You will need to get the TV cable on the 700R4 connected correctly to the carb linkage, but there are several articles on how to do that.

Do you plan to use the '75 engine as-is, or swap any of the '84 engine components? The '84 emissions are quite a bit different and there will be differences in the distributor, carburetor, EGR, etc. However, you can probably just use the '75 engine without swapping over any parts from the '84 engine. The '75 should be a large cap HEI and standard 4 bbl quadrajet, which is a fairly easy setup to work with.

Hey Guys thanks alot for the quick informative responses. Well Im glad itll bolt right up. Will do on the TV cable. And yes, the 1975 350 will be installed into an '84 pickup with the 700R4. As for the other components, I wont really be sweating too much about the emission since the truck will primarily be used as a work truck out in the ranch, and I plan on having the original 4barrel carb rebuilt. Thanks alot again, should be removing the 350 tomorow to send to a machine shop by Monday , so I appreciate how quick I got this help to move me along alot faster. Thanks!
