'76 460

I have a 460 out of a '76 Lincoln. Ive been told that the manifolds were not that great and if I could, maybe try to find a set of Interceptors. Also, I may want to get another timing set. Does anyone know whether the heads that came on this engine or any good, or would an upgrade be recommended? I know I need to go with an aftermarket intake, just not sure about the heads.

If you can find a set of P.I. exhaust manifolds, they may be pretty pricey. A set of shorties will probably be cheaper.

If the timing set is OE or an OE-type replacement, it will be the retarded variety. Not what you want for performance.

Depending on what the engine is going into, there are 429/460 long tube headers that fit everything from Mustang/Capri's to F350 trucks- unless you want/need to keep cast iron manifolds.

Ditto, as a rule, shorties are much ado about not much at all, a waste of time and effort. If you want performance, you want long tubes.
