76 vega wagon backhalved

hello all , i am building a 600 hp 1976 vega wagon . i has been tubbed ,roll caged , and back halved with a 4 link and a 9 in ford rear end.this was done at a pro chassis shop. was done right. my question is how do i learn how to set the 4 link up for my first run ? in other words where is the starting point with the link adjustment?thanks rick[IMG]jpeg[/IMG]

I would ask the pro chassis shop that installed it, that would be an excellent starting point.

the car was all ready done when i bought it . i dont know the shop .

"Doorslammers : The Chassis Book" by Dave Morgan is a must have if you want to understand the relationship between link adjustment, instant center and various other link adjustments. Also has a wealth of info on shocks and springs. Most Speed shops will have copies of it, about $40.

Also take a look at Billy Shope's online suspension site at http://racetec.cc/shope/ Very informative.

I would take the car back to the chassis shop and have them do the first initial adjustment on the scales to give you a good starting spot.

If you don't know who did the work just find another shop and have them do it on the scales. It will make the set up quicker.

prostreet you are dead on . i was not thinking right . man i have so much going on trying to get this car built.i will also buy the book that was recomened and will find local chassis shop here in houston to weigh the wheels and set the links for 1 st run .i have never had a car with links to set . this will work nice after dialed in i have been told.again thank you . rick

thank you for info . yes i will order that book . i have looked at several but was not sure what to order . thank you .now i will order doorslammers.yes billy shop looks like a great one too . thank you again for your recomendations. i was a little lost at first . just needed a little direction !! lol rick
