77 Camaro front crossmember question

I have a '57 Chevy Suburban with a '77 Camaro front clip and an L6 250ci engine in it. I would like to go to a small block (maybe even an LS engine) and I wonder if the crossmember is the same between L6 and V8 cars. To put the small block, can I just swap the motor mounts?
Thanks!

yes,,,the subframe is the same...You may need to go with heavier springs, but try it first to see

It seems the 2 engines (250ci L6 and 350ci V8) use the same motor mounts (same part numbers), am I right? So, if I leave the L6 motor mounts on the frame, will it put the V8 at the correct location? That would be cool!

Frames on 2nd gen Camaros are the same from the smallest L6 to the largest big block. Mounts will work for all engines, although the factory did use different motor mounts for a BBC vs. a SBC.
There are numerous spring options, from L6 to BBC, and even differences between a car with or without AC. I'd not worry about springs until you see how it sits. I replaced the springs in my '71 Camaro with a 427, and went with SBC w. AC springs. They sat just the way wanted, and I think BBC springs would have been too much.

the bbc mounts move the engine an inch or 2 to the pass side..
the 307 small block mounts are different.. no idea why..
but that engines long gone in 77 iirc
the ws6 swaybar is bigger than any other used(78-81)
allot of people use b body brakes (12" rotors)
look for cracks where the engine crossmember meets the side rails..
and at the stear box
and a arms around ball joint
