77 chevy truck no rear brakes bad proportion valve?

I'm geting my 77 chevy shortwide back on the road and I got new brakes all the way around truck a new master cylinder, well I bleed everything the way I usually do bench bleed master, then.started with the furthest wheel from mc them next furthest so on well the peddle didn't feel right so I opened the front line on the master to cut out front brakes to check the rear brakes and had no rear brakes so I took the rear line on master off completely partner held finger over hole it built up enough presser to blow his finger off and spray brake fluid out so I no in getting out of master but is their a way I'm messing up with the proportion valve please any advice is greatly appreciated its been a twoo years project and as always one thing after another wife is about ready to kill me

The only thing that makes me think the master is good is when I undid the front lines held finger over rear line hole after a few pumps to get air out it built up pressure so I its coming out of master cylinder maybe I have air traapped by the proportion. Valve
