`78 Buick 350 in a `84 Chevy Pickup?

Just as the subject says, will a 1978 Buick 350 bolt up into a 1984 Chevrolet two wheel drive pick up? If it'll bolt right up to my auto tranny, which I assume is a 400 could be a 350. Gotta know, since it seems to be a deal at the moment. I need an engine for my truck so I can go out and get moving. This is only a few minutes away. So that should explain it to all those people that's wanted me to buy or take their engines. I'm just paying for convience right now.

No the tranny won't bolt right up. You have a chevy pattern on the bell housing and (buick, olds, pontiac) B.O.P. has a different pattern. Also, go to the salvage yard and get the mount for a 80's chevy truck that had a diesel and the engine will bolt right up...so i've heard on here yesterday, good advice. Or you could redrill some holes and fab up your existing mounts.

Bottom line up front, No, it will not bolt right up to the frame or to your tranny. You will have to come up with motor mounts (couple of options), a tranny adapter set up of some sort, and ther will be several other conversion/ modification issues that will come up but they are relitively minor.

There is a guy currently doing this right now he is within the forums.

Check out the thread "75 Buick in a Chevy truck"

Well, I can buy the tranny with it if I want, they're parting out the car. So will a 78 buick tranny have any problem bolting up? I can fab up mounts if I need to really.
