78 camaro headliner.

The headliner board in the car is gone and I was wondering what would be the best option to put a headliner back in. I've seen abs plastic headliner boards but shiping is so high on them ($40 usd and up for shiping). I'v seen a conversion headliner kit that uses bows insted of the board. I was wondering what you guys/girls think would work out the best. Also if any one knows where to get the abs plastic boards for less than $100 usd let me know.

The headliner backboard in my 1981 Camaro is a very stiff cardboard type material. I am sure your 78' is no different. I sanded the old foam left when the original perforated type headliner (OEM) fell down. Then I simply used a heavy felt material found at a local fabric shop adhered with a strong 3M spray adhesive. It works and look good (IMO). I attached a photo so you can see the results. I snapped this photo today and the headliner has been up for about five years now.

I can't remember, but I am sure the entire thing can be done for less than $20

Good luck, Ed www.edgesz28.com
