78 Chevy stepside max tire width

Can any body tell me what the maximum rear wheel and tire width can be put on a 78 Chevy stepside WITHOUT cutting the frame and WITH moving all suspension inside the frame? Basically I am going to tub it and put 15x15 wheels with 31x18.5 tires, and am wondering if I can get away without cutting the frame and narrowing it.

I don't have the truck here to measure it for myself.
Thanks

I don't think 31's will fit, if you move the spring under
the frame, you might be able to get a 15" wide tire
under there...

Surely someone has had to figure out what the width is between the frame and bed fender lip. I am already going to narrow the rear end, since I already have the wheels and tires. So I don't have the choice on what rear end size I will use, but I just want to know if anyone has tubbed out any Chevy truck WITHOUT narrowing the actual frame. If so, what was the tire width you used?

Thanks again.
