78 Nova quarter panels

I don't know tons about cars so please bear with me. My older brother gave me his 78 nova but it needs a bit of work. The rear quarter panels are pretty rusted up. he has tried to repair them in the past but they just rusted through again. I have been looking all over for replacement panels but can't seem to find any for my year. My question is can I fit another years quarter panels onto mine without a lot of hassle?

Let me start off by saying, changing quarterpanels on that car will be a bunch of hassle if you have never done them before. On any vehicle that doesnot have a full frame, quarterpanels support the rear suspension. If they are not done properly, the vehicle can be dangerous. As far as ones from other years fitting, you should check with someone that has an interchange book to make sure.

Buick Skylark, Pontiac Ventura, Oldsmobile Omega, Pontiac Phoenix, Buick Apollo. They are all X-body cars so they pretty much have the same styling with exception to the grilles and tailights. Most of them should interchange from 75-79 but some are 74-79. Some of the cars werent made from 75-79 but they will be within those years. I have a 77, and it is impossible to find parts for it. Ebay and junk yards are gonna be the place where u will find what your looking for. Check out Novaresource.com & http://stevesnovasite.com for nova classifieds and tons of info.
