79 3.3 rear main seal etc
So i am pulling a 3.3 out of a 79 Monte Carlo to drill out a broken starter bolt. While i am there i am going to replace the rear main seal, pan gasket, probalby the valve cover gaskets too.
The seal is leaking so bad its keeping the rear of the motor clean. 190,000+ miles.
Why am i doing this to the red headed stepchild of motors you may ask? I am building a 350 to stick in it, just gonna get it drivable again untill the engine is done.
Since this is the red headed stepchild of engines, any weird oddness i should be aware of?
Should i just pull the main caps and lift the crank a bit to get to the upper seal, seems the easiest since the engine will be out.
