79 camaro swap power to manual brakes

i have a 79 camaro with power brakes wanting swap to manual brakes.
this is a drag car . wanting to get rid of the brake booster.
can i use same master cylinder . have been told brake rod will have to be replaced or can i cut it to the right length . thanks steve

You wil need a master cyl for manual brakes. The rod is clipped into the manual master cyl and pinned to the pedal. This keeps the rod from falling out when driving. And you know as well as I what will happen if that rod falls out going down the street or track.........

The rod also needs to mount higher on the pedal arm for more leverage.

Master cyl

Manual brakes were an option on that year of Camaro..Go to www.car-part.com and they are available from 20 bucks on up..

all problems fixed . used an 72 corvette manual master cyl. it has deep brake rod hole ( no clips ) . so i reused brake rod from my power booster had to cut about 1in off . frist remove brake pedal drill rod hole 1in higher . reinstall check & cut rod to length
