79' Silverado
Dear Doc (Or other Mechanical Help),
I have a 79' Chevy Silverado in my yard. About two years ago she died on me and my local mechanic said it was a distributor problem because there was no spark to make the motor run. Just now I began working on her again and I bought a new distributor but still there is no spark... I don't know what the problem is. There is a brand new battery and terminals and she turns over fine... Just still no spark. Do you have any suggestions, answers or advice? Any help you have is needed here, -Thank you, Cody |

Doc here,
Simple "Run Test"... just find the wire marked "BATT" on the cap..pull it and jump a wire directly to the battery..Crank it, If it starts and RUNS..you have a bad , wire between the ignition and BATT , or open fuse, link, or Bad Ignition switch. You'll Have to pull the jumper off To stop the engine... If that won't start it Let us know, we can troubleshoot the coil, module, and magnetic pickup..(but being new..probably is not it..) Doc
