79 Trans Am Shaker Hood Scoop fit issue

The shaker scoop sits too far back on my chevy 350 to fit with the hole in the hood. Anyone know any ways to fix this problem? I think i am out of luck. It also seem to be a little high.

Is the base from a 400 or 403? If so, you will need a SBC base AND scoop from a 81 trans am. Not very many made either. I believe there is a guy making some aftermarket bases for SBC also.

One I have NO idea how the bases look but cant you just offset the opening in the base? It would take some cutting a welding. Cut out the carb opening and shift the base around til it fits right then weld it back up...Eric

I've got a base for a chevy v8 and a 403 olds and they are quite a bit different, the chevy base is a lot smaller too. I dont know if you could modify it, I mean I guess you could. Just about anything's possible.
