I have a 1970 Nova with a stock 8.2 with 2.56 gears. I'm afraid my motor has too much power for the rearend. I found a guy that has a 1975 Nova that is selling the rearend. All 75 Novas came with 8.5 rearends and I think the rearend is the same lengths as mine. Does anyone know for sure that the 8.5 is the same dimensions as my 8.2? The 75 Nova is a 250 V6. It either has 2.73 gears or 3.08 gears. Does it matter that it is a six cylinder rearend going into an eight cylinder? They're all the same aren't they. I was told it is in good condition and I'm going to look at it this weekend. He wants $100 obo for it. Is this a good deal? Thanks for the help guys.
