8.2 rear end

i hv pulled 1.69 60 ft times 3600lbs car i hv moser 28 spl axles rich mond gears girdle cover auburn diff how much quicker before something gives lol ?

I dont know, but my sled has the same diff. This is a thread i will follow as it progresses.
I have read that the 8.2 is a weak rear, i am guessing the carriers break and that the 28 spline axles are pretty weak too.
I am sure there is truth too it, no doubt. There are upgrade gears, such as carriers that have limited slip cones or clutches in them depending on brand/design.Also 31 spline axles IIRC.
Eaton , and others like yukon gear sell everything you could want.I have heard that it isnt a good investment due to the 8.2 weak spots.
Like I said I would like to hear more also. We have a member named "Big Gearhead" who had tons of experience with this exact thing, but havent seen him here for a bit.
