8.2 rear end
It seems that I have an 8.2 rear end in my '72 elco. The big question is is it an 25 or 27 spline? Is there a way of telling without ripping into it? Since I'm changing gears and possible posi I'm buying a little at a time money you know. Storing and when have everything go for it!!

25 spline pinion and 28 spline axles.

Yea, the 27 spline pinion is in the BOP 8.2 rear end. Yours is the Chevy 8.2 with the 25 spline pinion. Check with prostreet6t9 and see what parts he has for you.

The Chev 8.2 has a smaller pinion nut than the BOP 8.2.
BOP is 1 1/4" and Chev is 1 1/8"(I think).
