8.5 10 bolt spider gears

Hi guys, Ive come across this forum several times while searching for stuff and you seem to be a wealth of knowledge so I decided to join cause I have a question. I just bought a 79 camaro and it has 2.41 rear end gears in it, but I have the original 3.08s in a box. I understand the carriers are different for 2.73 down and 2.73 up. The 3.08s are bolted to the original carrier, but the spider gears and side gears have seen better days. so my question is, are the spider/side gears the same in both carriers so that I can take the ones in the 2.41 carrier out and put them in the 3.08 carrier? thanks
