8.8 rear end regearing

i have an 89 mustang 5.0 and am interested in getting away from the 2.72 gear, i think that 3.73 is too much for highway driving . i think that 3.55 is more to my liking but would always like some other input. experience is not the best teacher, someone else's experience is the best teacher.

Either 3.73 or 3.55 are great streat gear ratios.
That car should have overdrive, so highway cruising shouldn't be an issue either way....

My '88 T-bird has the low-output 5.0 & AOD, and it's real happy both on the highway and around town with a 3.45 gear. Highway gas mileage dropped about 3mpg from the original 2.73, though.
