8" Ford Rear Disc's

Putting together a Steel 37 Ford and have a Maverick (5 lug axles) 8" Rear....Anyone know of a decent "Street" disc brake set-up for this rear-end (with Emergency Brakes)........Also....Want a recommendation for a Column Shift steering column with Indicator (not the self-locking big GM type)that would work with a 700R4........Car has a 5" setback (Big Block) firewall....Length??

Thanks in Advance

Ken

This may work for you.
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/9-Inch...-Kit,5336.html

I bought one to use on a small bearing 9", but havent installed it yet. Basic fit up looks good, and it seems to have all the pieces. It should work on an 8" as well.

Ken - Wilwood have 3 pages of brake kits for a Maverick http://info.wilwood.com/BrakeKits.as...model=Maverick. They are a bit expensive for initial purchase, but they work and spare parts are easily and reasonably found.

Columns with shifter - IDIDIT have several - http://www.ididitinc.com/universal_s...lshift_pns.htm. They also have indicators as accessories. You have to drill thru the website to find them

As far as length - that's for you to determine - as a note, the column will most likely not go through the engine recess, but along side of it.

rear disc

If you can do fab work. you could check out mid 80's lincoln town car rear disc.s or jeep cherokee 4 x 4 front rotors and mid 80's cad eldo calipers and I think speedway sells cad =Gm brackets. I take the dial calipers to the pick and pull and try to assemble the stuff from different cars to see if it will work.
