'80 Camaro rear tires width

How big rear tires can I put under my stock '80 Camaro? I have 295/60R15 at garage, but I can't try them at the moment. I can return these tires if they don't fit, so I would like to know...
Thanks!

I'll put the imfamous "It depends" on this one, the largest
I'd run on my former '78 Z28 was a 255/60-15, and I don't
think an extra 40mm would fit... YMMV...

tire size

A 295/60r15 is a 30 inch tire. I dont think that will fit under there. are you sure its not a 295/50 r15 that might fit as its a 26 inch but its also got a sectional width of 12.3 i believe. I have some under my nova and its lowered over the tires. I would take them to a shop and just tell them to test fit it. Some places would probably do it for free.
