Hey, I was just wondering if any one has ever owned a 83 z28 and what they thought of it. It is the cfi model but the man says it has a 350 crate motor in it. The engine is painted orange and he says it dosnt have very many miles on it. I guess the other question im trying to answer is if this is truly a 350 crate motor and if the other 305 motors that came in them were painted orange to.
just because its painted orange doesnt mean its a crate motor thats a old school dealer trick think about it how hard would it be to spray the motor orange if lets say you took it out to replace rings on it.....i just recently aquired a 81 z28 its mean though but it handles great
Look around the Bellhousing to Block by the firewall to see if it has a stamp, either, 5.0 (305) or 5.7 (350) other than that go to Mortec and run the block numbers.
As I said once before on this question... Stab it ...
If it's a 350, It will Growl...
If it's a 305, It Will Bark.

Thanks, I didnt say it was a crate motor because it is orange. I was more or less wondering if some crate motors came orange.
