83 S15 Jimmy Brake Problems

I have an 83 S15 Jimmy with a small block. The truck originally had power brakes, but never had much pedal. Bled the brakes, checked cylinders and calipers and all that. No luck. They worked but the pedal was nearly to the floor. So i swapped the master cylinder for one from a manual brake s10. I also changed the rear wheel cylinders, and done away with the booster. I did not change the proportioning valve. I have brakes now but not very good, once again. They wont hardly hold the motor in gear. Could the valve be the problem? Are the valves on power brake s10's different from manual? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

nevermind on earlier post. i switched the truck back to power brakes. Gonna beef up the rotors and calipers and see if that helps.

83 S15 Jimmy brake problems

I have an 83 S10 with a V8. The brakes are good with no changes from
stock except for carbon-metallic front pads. If everything is right, you
should have good brakes. If the only problem is low pedal, your rear
brakes are out of adjustment. Try manually adjusting them, in case the
automatic adjusters are not working.
