84 camaro seats

I'm trying to install a set of racing seats into my '84 camaro. the mounts that came on the seat do not match the floorboard of the car, so i planned to take the seat rails off the original seat, and install them on the new racing seats, but that wont work. however, i figured i could just remove the seat mounting bracket from the seat rail, and put that on the rails that came with the racing seats, but the mounts are held on with some kind of rivet or pin, and i'm curious to know if anybody knows how to remove without destroying them, or maybe just an idea of how to make it work. i don't want to ruin the stock seat just incase the racing seats end up not working.

Mounts are generally not riveted onto a seat, they are bolted on. You should be able to unbolt them from the adjustment track. You may have to release the catch and slide the seat forward and backward to get at the bolts which should be at the front and rear of the seat adjustment tracks. Then swap the mounts that came with the car onto the racing seats. You may have to drill some holes in the old mounts to do that.
