85' chevy caprice suspension change

What's up forum, I'm new here from Az!
I have a 85 chevy caprice coupe, can i swap the frame/suspension parts
from a 95/96 impala ss or caprice 9c1 to my 85 caprice?
Also in comparison is any frame/suspension better... 9c1 or impala ss?

welcome to the forum
some parts might be inter changable.you just need to look at a catalogue for replacement parts,moog/trw etc. Any tire alignment shop has that info. As far as shocks go,just buy new ones. sway bars you can measure. Springs,if its high mileage buy new ones and keep the height factory correct. Steering axis inclination changes with ride hide and you do not want to change ride height very much without expert help.

All 1977-1996 frames and suspension parts interchange. Note that the 77-90 coupes and sedans used the 5 x 4.75" lug bolt circle unless the HD brakes and suspension were installed (usually police and taxi packages), the 91-96 cars used the 5 x 5" pattern on all cars. Control arms are the same, spindles and rear axles swap, springs and sway bars swap.

Good info. I figured there'd be some differences between coupe and sedan so I did not comment.

Coupe and sedan are the same (except, as I noted, the wheel bolt pattern on cars with HD brakes and suspension). The wagons have a wider rear axle and slightly different rear control arms and these don't interchange.

Since we're on the topic of b-bodies suspension from this era, what do you think the feasibility is of using the AWD Astro van parts to create an AWD b-body?
