85' corvette brake keep going out

alright this is on my 85' corvette that has disc brakes all around. About a month or so ago, my master cylinder went out. and the Brake light on the dash would stay on. Well I replaced the master cylinder and the brakes have been working fine since except for the warning light coming on every so often but the brakes worked fine.

Until today, I was backing out of my driveway and the brakes lost pressure and the pedal went to the floor and it wouldn't stop! Neither did the e-brake either, and with a car coming down the street only way I could stop without hitting the oncoming car was shift from reverse to drive (Yeah I know not good for the tranny :pain: )

So now I think I may have some problems with my trannsmission, but right now I need to figure out the brake problem before I figure out the tranny problem.

This was the first time the brakes lost pressure since I put the new master cylinder in. After I finally got it to stop, the brakes were working fine again.

I would try re-bleeding the system again, might still be some air in there especially if the new MC was not bench bleed. keep us updated

Brad, was the master cylinder low or empty on brake fluid? Has the weather been dry? If so get under the car and look for wet spots, check every caliper and flex hose, they like to leak at these spots. If the fluid was not low you may have a defective master.

There are no leaks anywhere. the front resoivoir on the MC was a little low, but I don't think it was quite low enough to cause any real problems, and the weather has been unusually rainy the past few daysI bleed the brakes again today. I got some air out of them, and the pedal feels better than before.
I flushed the system when I replaced the MC a few weeks ago, and didn't see anymore dirty fluid coming out.
When I bleed them today, I had some dirty fluid come out of the back brakes but not the front. Took it for a test drive, brakes work better, and the brake light never came on afterwards.
Im hoping I don't have a defective MC again, Since I don't think a little bit of air would make the brakes go completly out for a few seconds.

Hydroboost Systems

If The Master Is New, You Might Jack It Up And Check For Any Loose Wheel Bearings. They Will Allow The Rotors To Move Around, And Knock In The Pistons.
