85 s-10 4w/d engine swap

I have a 85 s-10 4w/d with a 2.8 4speed trans i already have the old engine out without pulling the tranny or lifting the body up like it says in the book
I did this before and put the engine back in, but i dont remember if i pulled the trans to put it back in, i dont think i did- can anybody give me any info before i get started and get stuck and have to start again I appreciate any help i can get

you can drop it in with out removing the trans- I would also recomend installing the engine without accessories or exhaust manifolds to make it easier on ya in th elong run...

Your not replacing the 2.8 with another 2.8 are you?

I am replaceing it with a 2.8 as much as I hate that P,O,S, engine
