86 conjoin 55

does anyone know if a rear end of a 86 vette would fit in a 55 belair??? doesnt matter if i have to cut anything just wanna know if its possible or if anyone has done it. my consern is the 86 has rear indapendent suspension.

back in the late 80s, wasnt there a 'novette' 60s nova with c4 vette suspension front and rear grafted under it with the almighty 350TPI L98 and 700r4? I think the amazing and oft-forgotten Lil John Buttera had a hand in it. By the way, the 700 is the only late 80s trans suitable from the vette. The getrag stickshift or the god awful nash 4+3 are NOT suitable. A T5 world class might be if you were polite to it
