86 Monte SS nose, how is the metal under the nose adjusted?
My 86 Monte SS has had a slight upward dent on the nose for over 20 years and now its getting annoying. My question is, exactly how is the metal under the nose constructed so that I can remove this dent? The nose has never been off the car.
Photod below its hard to see the dent but I can explain. There is a square metal frame under the nose which is the air intake for the radiator. Its pretty much a sealed box and it seems like one corner of the "box" is too high and pushing the nose upward where I have the yellow arrow. I took a pic showing a metal bracket that I thought would pivot and correct this flaw but even unscrewed it seemed not to move much. There is a small bit of surface rust on the spot where the metal bracket meets the underside of the nose. Its right at that spot that the nose is dented upward. Any clues as to what I can look for to adjust the metal under the nose? Register now (free) or login to remove ads |

I admit Im replying here to push the post but I am adding new info:
The AIRBOX is the name of the area under the nose that appears to be pushing up on the nose. Ive only been able to find info regarding removing the entire front clip (the nose and 2 fenders as one unit) but this is WAY WAY beyond what I want to do. |
