86 trans am gas leak

Hi it's been awhile since i needed any help from you guys but now im back.i have a gas leak about a drop per second,from the brass like line that goes into the brass thing on the carb that says filter.it's leaking right where the line goes in and some guy said buy this tread tape,take out the line and wrap the tape around the line but if i take out that line want gas go everywhere?im naab but i got to fix this because im scared to drive now due to it catching fire.

Well, the tape to reseal the thread would possibly remidy the problem. And, if you do pull the line out a little bit of gas will get on to your engine. But, not enough to cause an issue like fire. The gas will evaporate as it hits the engine, and when the engine is running and gets hot, it will continue to evaporat. Not Fire. That is if the gas leak is fixxed.

Ok thanks,i'll give it a shot.im kinda scared not that the motor is hot because i haven't crank the car today but because the guy said no more than a gallon of gas should come out!lol so will gas be coming out the carb and the line?

Ok i wanted to try to tighten the filter thing up before taken it off and it worked,no leak and between that and for now putting ducktape around a vacum line,it's got alot more power,thanks.
