All car/truck '86-87 Chevy V8's have this partial v-belt/serpentine belt combo, maybe even some 85's(Monte SS and Caprice). Not sure about the '88-89 Caprice, but all '88 trucks have the long serpentine with tensioner .The serpentine belt runs around the alternator, waterpump, and crank in place of what would normally be a v-belt, no automatic tensioner, you have to tension it just like a v-belt, the brackets are the same a v-belt, only the pulleys are different. We go looking for these pulleys for cheap race use, it is almost impossible to throw a serpentine belt, a lot harder to throw than a v-belt.
