87 Ford AOD conversion to C6

My 87 302 ford pickup has a bad AOD trans, I have a C6 that I want to replace the AOD with. Can someone tell me what I will need to do this conversion or point me to a source for info.
Thanks

I do not claim to be a knowledgeable person when it comes to the later model Fords ... but I believe the AOD and the C6 have different bell housings ... unless you have the fairly RARE ... small block bell housing C6.

C6's are well known to use a good bit of power up ... and are one of the worse energy efficient transmissions Ford made.

C6 conversion

Thanks for the reply, this truck is going to be used to haul hay and pull a trailer, not a daily driver, the fuel economy isn't a concern. I am wanting a 3 speed without overdrive hence the C6.

Although no claim to expert status either, my '77 F100 has a 302 w/C6 and I'd think they are rather common.
