88 chevy c1500 not shifting Help!I

I have a 88 chevy pickup that I redid the motor in and know it is not shifting correctly

Under light Accl it shifts at real hi rpms and no down shift

I think it is in the TV cable but not sure. I think i am ajusting it right. Push it all the way in then press the button in and go WOT and it will ratchet out. well mine will go ALL the way out.

I put it in about 1/2 way and it shifts better but really soft and know it will down shift. But it will not spin the tires for a stand still and i think it should It could befor i redid the motor. but know it wont and and I

Installed:
1.6 full roller rockers
shortly headers
tbi spacer
fuel injector spacer
Hypertech TBI Power Chargers
K&N filter and Filter top for the stock air intake
edelbrock RPM intake
a compcam 12-249-4 full cam shaft kit spings and all
Taylor Spiro-Pro Spark Plug Wire Set
MSD Blaster GM Coil

Know back on the TV cable I installed the TBI spacer. will that make a diff. in the postion of the cable? I dont want to buy a GM cable if it wont work as far a length gose

thanks

Push the button first, push adjuster all the way in, then release the button, and push pedal to the floor. Don't operate the throttle at the TBI, as you may be able to over-adjust.

It will only ratchet out one click.. maby

I went ahead and ordered a new cable to day throu the DLR. I was only $22 and i am sure it is the original cable. I will see if the new one will retchet out better. It seem to shift better about 3/4 of the way out

thanks

That adjusting method only works on t350s and 400s. Push that button and adjust it so that there is about a little less than a 1/4 in overhang and go from there. That is what the factory sets them at.
