88 s-10 carrier bearing



i have a 88 s-10 with a 350 in it and a 700r4... its lowered 3.5 in all the way around and i am a problem with the carrier bearing going out... i just replaced it a month ago and its already out again... anybody have and suggestions

When you say "carrier bearing" are you saying you have a 2 piece driveshaft with a carrier bearing or are you talking about a bearing in the tranny or a rearend bearing?

Chances are, you need to shim the carrier bearing up off the crossmember to get your driveline angles closer to where they need to be. How is it lowered? Have you checked your pinion angle? Most lowered S10s have the pinion angle WAAY off, if you're using blocks, they should be angled, not square. I do not recommend blocks, drop springs are a much better way to go.

yeah they are blocks and it is a 2 piece driveshaft

Have you double checked to make sure the D/L was not to long after the truck was lowered?
