9" - 8.8" hybrid bearings ?
I'm new to this forum and new to this type of rear axle work. I'm hoping that someone can tell me if a bearing is available to fit my 8.8, 98 explorer, 31 spline axles into the large 9" ends I am wanting to put on my explorer 8.8 housing. Also, with the 9" ends it's not a c clip axle anymore by function, so is there any reason that I could not have the 8.8 axles shortened and resplined? I think it has probably taken me 2 weeks of reading and scrounging to be able to ask that Question. I really like this forum, thanks for all the help. OMG it does have spell check...

You'll need 31 spline 9" axles. The bearings that fit the 9" housing ends won't fit the axles from the 8.8"...
|
