Question 9 inch Identification tab

I have the tag off of a Ford 9 inch I just bought. The numbers read WDM-AH 4GC. Right below that 3.25 9 328A. I have found that the WDM-AH is the 3.25 ratio, with 9" ring gear. What does the 4GC or 328A mean? I'm trying to find out what type of vehicle this came off of.

Thanks, Mike

Actually, the WDM-AH is the axle model (prefix & suffix). The 3.25 is the gear set (open).

The other codes normally listed would be date and plant. I'm guessing the 328A is the plant.

Date codes were y-m-w. The "C" could be 3rd week.

Say 47Fleetline,

I have a 48 Fleetline. I was wondering if you had some pictures of you car would be willing to send. Maybe share a little dialogue.

Thanks Jesse

It came from about a 1972 pickup. The cataloging for light truck is different than car and sometimes the serial no. of the donor vehicle (production date) is neccessary for exact year of assembly.
