904 TorqueFlite rebuild cost?

if i buy the kit does anyone know what ill be looking at paying to have a torqueflite 904 gone thru? thanks.

I was going to say come over my garage and bring your 904 with you. Too bad your in Texas. I can do a 904 with one arm tied behind my back. They are a simple transmission and the cost should not be too bad.

If your building something and are choosing the 904 you might want to trade up to its big brother the 727. Station wagons and trucks have units with that use extra clutch disk.

the 904 was cast with special bell hosuings to fit a need..

Photo is a 904 with a Chevy bell housing on it... out of a postal Jeep

well i pulled the tranny,, it has a 6 bolt flexplate that had the center torn out of it...in other words where the bolts go in the flexplate it was torn all the way around, i guess my no movement could be this, so i dont know what i need now, just a flexplate or a tranny...anyone got any feed back? what are the symptoms if the flexplate is cracked all the way around.?

oh also the flexplate had these numbers on it ZH451128
ALSO MINE HAS the audi 4cyl..

Check for a cracked converter hub, excessive wear on the pump bushing and make sure all of the dowel pins are there.

And yes, this could VERY WELL be your no move problem!
