91 camaro

alright need some trouble shootin answers... i dont know much about the car.. i'm workin on it for a guys grandson ..... anywho its a 91 camaro with the 3.1 v-6 stock everything..crossover intake .. fuel injection.. right now from what they told me i would expect timing,,, but anyhow maybe you guys have ideas.... they told me it ran at one point they had it then it didnt for whatever reason......
i've done some searchin and found the MAP sensor vac line wasnt connected... but cant find an empty port for it
then i pulled the dist. cap off and upon lookin inside i found the dizzy was either one not all the way on... or 2 the dist. is bent... the dizzy was rubbin on the inside of the cap... not the terminals themselves just plastic to plastic and it was rubbin off center... and the dist wasn't tightened down
i pulled number one spark plug and it is black and smells like gas..

any ideas out there.. sorry for the lack of info but thats all i got so far

I'll take a stab- I think it could be sabotage or some very inept repair attempt.

Start w/a new cap and rotor (what's with the "dizzy" thing?).

Establish that the distributor is installed correctly and the plug wires are correct for the firing order/dist. rotation.

Once you've gotten that taken care of, you can start to diagnose the problem.
